TEAM CODE OF CONDUCT

1.I will encourage my child to have fun while playing youth sports.Games are meant to be fun and participating in sports should be a positive experience. I will help my child to grow through sports, but I will avoid exerting undue pressure on him/her.

2. I will respect the officials and will teach my child to do the same. I will never yell at the refs or question their calls. I will let them do their job without interrupting. I will remember that my child is learning from my example.

3. I will leave the coaching to the coaches. I will support the coaching staff and will not shout directions to my child or other athletes.

4. I will give my child my support and attention during the game. I am there to cheer my child on and focus on the game. I will do my best to avoid outside distractions.

5. I will promote positive practice strategies for my child.

6.I will encourage my child to make the most of practices and to listen to the coach.

7. I will keep winning in perspective. I will teach my child that there is more to every sport than the final score and that there are lessons to be learned from a loss.

8. I will make a “forward pass.” I will share this pledge with the parents of other child-athletes. Together, we can make sure that sports are fun and beneficial for our children and our communities.
